Dallas Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Lawyer
People suffering from the lung disease Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, or COPD, often find it difficult to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Complications from emphysema or chronic bronchitis, including shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing, can make it difficult to enjoy the activities COPD sufferers used to enjoy.
If you or a loved one is suffering from the disabling effects of COPD, the Law Offices of Stuart Pastor in Austin and Plano, Texas, can help. I have been practicing Social Security disability law since 1991, and I have helped hundreds of people like you win their SSDI claims.
Contact me to set up a free initial consultation at my Austin or Plano, Texas law offices. Or, call me toll free at 1-888-616-6162. My goal is to win benefits for you as early as possible. The sooner you get your benefits, the sooner you can stop worrying about your medical and other bills.
The Heartbreak of COPD
If you have a lung disease such as COPD, you may be sensitive to heat, or you may struggle with asthma symptoms. It is not uncommon for COPD sufferers to develop diabetes, respiratory infections or heart disease. In the advanced stages of COPD, physicians often must prescribe oxygen therapy or pulmonary rehabilitation. It is difficult for many COPD sufferers to sustain activity for very long, and that can preclude holding down a full-time job.
If you are 50 years old or younger, we will need to prove to the Social Security examiners that you cannot maintain employment in any occupation, in order for you to get SSDI benefits.
The Law Offices of Stuart Pastor Can Help
An attorney who has practiced Social Security law for nearly 20 years, I recommend that COPD sufferers get the help of a lawyer from the very start of the application process. By assisting you with your initial application, I can make sure all the critical information and documentation relating to your case is included and presented as effectively as possible.
The Social Security Administration uses what is called a "medical listing," a list of all symptoms of recognized disabilities and diseases, as its guide to determining eligibility for benefits. Few people have every symptom of a lung disease, and their claims are often denied. However, the medical listing is not definitive, and it is worth it to keep on fighting. For example, medical records are sometimes missing key elements that would prove a claim. Additional examination or testing may uncover information that helps build a stronger case based for your SSDI claim.
