Revisions to the Immune System Listings

Social Security issued revisions to the Immune System Listings that take effect June 16, 2008. Listings set forth criteria for various medical conditions, and if a claimant's medical condition matches the listing the claimant is presumed to be disabled, and the claim should be approved. Claims are not denied for failure to meet a listing. The claim may be approved under other rules.

The revision to the listing for Lupus (Listing 14.02) is discussed in the Federal Register, Vol. 73, No. 53, page 14607 (page 39 of the online PDF).

Information about the revision to the listing for Inflammatory Arthritis (Listing 14.09) can be found in the Federal Register, Vol. 73, No. 53, page 14608 (page 40 of the online PDF).

The new listing for Sjogren's Syndrome (Listing 14.10) can be found in the Federal Register, Vol. 73, No. 53, page 14608 (page 40 of the online PDF).

The revised listing for HIV (Listing 1408) can be found in the Federal Register, Vol. 73, No. 53, page 14607 (page 39 of the online PDF).
